MISSION

The American story has always been deeply rooted in our ability to reinvent ourselves in the face of new challenges. At Demand Signal, we are on a mission to strengthen and diversify the defense industrial base and close the gap between innovation and government, fostering today’s brightest ideas for a better, safer, stronger tomorrow.

TO INCREASE COMPETITION

Because when there's no competition, there's no pressure to innovate (or lower costs).

$2

TRILLION

Over the past 3 years, DoD has spent close to $2T on defense contracts.

1/3

CONTRACTS

One-third, have gone to the same prime defense contractors, limiting competition and innovation.

5

COMPANIES

In the 1990's there were 51 prime defense contractors. Today, there are only 5. Due to consolidation, DoD has fewer options, resulting in  increased risk.

TO DIVERSIFY THE INDUSTRIAL BASE

Within the Department of Defense, there are hundreds of potential DoD customers who would be interested in acquiring your capability, product, or service. Even if you don't identify as a traditional defense company, most capabilities in the commercial market can actually be used and adapted for military purposes too.

AN AVERAGE OF $400+ BILLION IS AWARDED IN DEFENSE CONTRACTS EACH YEAR

And its not all just for weapon systems...

1

The Microwave
1946

Microwave technology was originally used as a radar to locate enemies during World War II.

2

GPS

1960

DoD developed GPS during the Gulf War for soldiers to navigate across unknown terrain.

3

EpiPen

1973

The EpiPen was first developed to deliver treatment to soldiers who had come into contact with a nerve agent.

VISION

The innovation pipeline between government & industry is bureaucratic and broken. Our big picture vision is to be the driving force behind government modernization into the digital world. Our approach to digital government transformation is to provide a simple and efficient software platform for industry and government to connect.
